Khadijah M. Silver (they / them / theirs) is proud to bring over 20 years of experience leading nonprofit brand development, marketing and communications campaigns to their role as TLDEF’s first Director of Communications. A seasoned multimedia storyteller, Khadijah most recently served as a journalist and brand communications strategist with bylines at Medcity News, Above the Law, Law360, Institutional Investor, Popular Science, Refinery29 and more. Prior to that, they spent a total of seven years as Executive Director of grassroots youth advocacy organizations Resilience Advocacy Project and BetterBio. They have decades of experience in helping disparately-impacted communities build, maintain, and grow power, having co-designed numerous successful programs and communications campaigns for gender, identity, social, economic, racial, educational, housing, workplace, environmental, immigration, and health justice. A trans and queer rights activist since 14, Khadijah believes we all can win by centering our Black, Native, Latino/a/x, Middle Eastern, Asian and immigrant trans, gender-creative and nonbinary siblings who have been strategically denied access to decision-making about their own lives and needs.

Khadijah holds a BA from Mills College and JD from Boston University School of Law. They are a member in good standing of the New York State Bar.
